The Doña Ana County Health and Human Services Department will host a July 17 meeting to discuss a grant, funds from which will be used to prevent prescription drug/opioid overdose-related deaths through a naloxone purchase pilot site.

The purpose of the project is to reduce prescription drug/opioid overdose-related deaths among individuals 18 years and older by training first responders and key community members about preventing opioid overdose deaths and implementing secondary prevention strategies such as the purchase and distribution of naloxone.

During the meeting, public input will be encouraged regarding community needs and efforts related to overdose prevention and naloxone use.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in Multi-Purpose Room 1-113 of the Doña Ana County Government Center.

For more information, contact Kathleen Davis at (575) 525-5853 or send an email to kathleend@donaanacounty.org
