Las Cruces Art Exhibit For Area Teens

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department is issuing a call for teen artists to submit their artwork for the third annual “Chaos Collaboration”, an art show with music performances for teens by teens, bringing a fresh perspective to local culture.

The art exhibit runs February 3 & 4, 2017, at the WIA building, located at 340 N. Reymond St.  An artist reception with musical performances will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3.  The public is invited from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, to view the art, listen to live music and watch live screen printing and more.

“Chaos Collaboration” empowers teen artists to create artwork for exhibition, showcasing their skills and their contribution to community culture. Research has shown that participation in the arts improves one’s physical and psychological well-being, and is a driver for the creation of social capital. The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department Teen Programs provide social, recreational, athletic, and artistic opportunities for teens throughout the community.

For more information about “Chaos Collaboration” or teen programming, contact Recreation Programs at (575) 541-2455.
