Las Cruces Cold Case: 14-year-old Boy went Missing 30 Years Ago

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps locate Victor Trejo who went missing 30 years ago at the age of 14.

Trejo was last seen on April 7, 1986, at a friend’s house on Ethel Avenue.

Police followed several leads in 1986 but were unsuccessful in locating Trejo who, at the time, was residing with his grandmother on the 1400 block of north Tornillo Street in Las Cruces. Investigators do not know the circumstances of Trejo’s disappearance.

Trejo was 14 years old at the time of his disappearance, 5-feet-7-inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children commissioned an age progressed photo of Trejo which depicts how he might appear at the age of 38. Today, Trejo would be 44 years old.

Anyone with information that helps lead to the whereabouts of Victor Trejo is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip by text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.

The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
