Las Cruces Fire Causes Heavy Damage To Vacant House

Las Cruces – The Las Cruces Fire Department extinguished a fire early Monday morning in a vacant house.

Firefighters were called to the central Las Cruces home, located in the 600-block of East Hadley, at around 1:00 a.m. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions upon arrival. Firefighters had to force entry in an effort to search the structure for occupants and completely extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes.

The fire caused heavy damage to the unoccupied structure. Fire investigators have not determined the cause of the fire or the dollar value of the loss.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
