The Las Cruces Fire Department in collaboration with the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2362 is sending an official delegation of firefighters to the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial in Prescott, Arizona.
On Sunday, June 30th, nineteen interagency hotshot crew members from the Prescott Fire Department Granite Mountain Hotshots perished in a wildfire burning in the Yarnell Hills in central Arizona.
On Tuesday, July 9th, a memorial for the fallen firefighters will be held in Prescott Valley. The event is expected to draw thousands of fire service personnel and dignitaries from across the nation. Vice President Joseph Biden and Senator John McCain will be in attendance.
