Las Cruces: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) along with La Calerita Construction will start the reconstruction of the eastbound off ramp at the Avenida de Mesilla exit (141).
The NMDOT and La Calerita Construction will be closing the eastbound off ramp exit 141 Wednesday September 25th by 7:00 a.m.. The newly constructed eastbound on ramp will be opened to traffic by the end of business on Wednesday September 25th. The contractor will be closing the eastbound loop on-ramp for I-10 on Thursday September 26th. The closure is scheduled to last until December of 2013. The contractor must remove the eastbound off ramp and loop ramp in order to fully construct the new eastbound off ramp for I-10 and align the intersection as designed.
Detours will remain from Lakeside Drive to Hickory Loop, and on I-10 located at University (exit 142), and Motel Blvd (exit 139). Motorists are advised that they will continue to encounter lane restrictions along I-10 as the eastbound will be switched to the westbound lanes. Motorists will utilize the westbound lanes for traffic moving east and westbound from mile marker 142 to 139. This switch in traffic is scheduled for Friday September 27th. Please reduce your speed and proceed with caution as heavy equipment is moving in and out of the work zone.
