Main Street, at the intersection of Griggs Avenue, will be closed to vehicle traffic for about three weeks, beginning Feb. 26.
A detour will be in effect during the closure. Northbound Main Street traffic will be detoured east onto Bowman Avenue, then north onto Church Street, west onto Las Cruces Avenue, and back onto Main Street.
Traffic traveling south on Main Street will be detoured west onto Las Cruces Avenue, south onto Water Street, east onto Bowman Avenue, and back onto Main Street.
Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. The road closure will not affect RoadRUNNER Transit routes. To avoid possible delays, motorists should seek an alternate route.
Closure of that portion of Main Street is necessary so Morrow Enterprises, Inc. can continue work on the Downtown Two-Way Conversion Project.
