Las Cruces – An alleged gang member charged in a 2007 killing in Las Cruces has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Prosecutors say 25-year-old Isaac Mark Ramirez also pleaded guilty Friday to shooting at an occupied building, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, being a felon in possession of a firearm and conspiracy.
Ramirez faces up to 60 years in prison when he's sentenced. A date will be set next month.
Authorities say Ramirez was arrested in the death of 36-year-old William Lucero, who was shot eight times at a Las Cruces home on Sept. 8, 2007.
One of Ramirez's co-defendants is scheduled to stand trial next week and the other has pleaded guilty.
The Las Cruces Sun-News says all three defendants remain in custody at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
