The man suspected of robbing a Las Cruces delicatessen last Tuesday evening has been arrested.
Ethan Hunter Burton, 24, is charged with one count of robbery, a third degree felony.
At around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, Las Cruces Police were dispatched to the report of a robbery at McAlister’s Deli at 2800 Mall Drive. Officers learned that a man entered the restaurant, jotted down a note on a to-go menu and handed it to a cashier.
After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled from the store.
LCPD detectives learned that the suspect may be a man who resides in an apartment at 1420 S. Telshor Dr. A detective made contact with several residents of the apartment complex who identified a surveillance photo of the robbery suspect as matching another tenant, Burton.
The detective contacted Burton who indicated that he was the robbery suspect.
Burton was arrested Friday evening and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with a cash-only bond set at $10,000.
