Las Cruces Minimum Wage Amended; Stays at $9.20 For 2018

Today, the Las Cruces City Council amended the city’s Minimum Wage Ordinance to prevent an increase to the hourly rate based on the cost of living from taking effect Jan. 1, 2018. As a result, the minimum wage will remain at $9.20 per hour, and $3.68 per hour for tipped workers through 2018.

The next increase will take effect Jan. 1, 2019, when the rate will increase to $10.10 per hour, and for tipped workers, $4.04 per hour.

Increases to the minimum wage based on the Consumer Price Index will commence on Jan.1, 2020, and will be evaluated and assessed annually thereafter.

The amended ordinance is available for review on the Hot Topic tab on home page of the City of Las Cruces website at las-cruces.org.
