Results of a recount in the Las Cruces Municipal election are in, and election results remain unchanged.
District 1 candidate Eli Guzman and District 4 candidate Richard Hall filed for a partial recount after losing in tight races.
The recount took place in the presence of a state district judge’s designee, the interim city clerk and the chief deputy county clerk.
After a recount in 6 of 15 voting convenience centers, officials determined there was no change in the ballot count. Kasandra Gandara defeated Eli Guzman in District 1 with 18 votes, and Jack Eakman defeated Richard Hall in District 4 by 11 votes.
Winners of the November 3rd municipal election were sworn in at the November 16th city council meeting.
