Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police are investigating a drive-by shooting from late Sunday evening that resulted in one man being transported to the hospital.
Shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, Las Cruces Police were called to the 2300 block of Sambrano Avenue where a 19-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his thigh. The victim was transported to University Medical Center of El Paso with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police learned that the victim was in a parking lot, at the corner of Sambrano and Walnut Street, when someone drove by in a pickup and fired at least four shots. The victim was struck by one of the rounds.
