Las Cruces Woman Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend

Las Cruces Police arrested a woman suspected of stabbing her boyfriend during an argument Friday evening.

Cynthia Perez, 41, of the 11600 block of Dona Ana Road, is charged with one count each of aggravated battery against a household member and tampering with evidence.

Detectives learned that Perez and her 54-year-old boyfriend got into an argument Friday evening that later turned physical. Perez is alleged to have punched and kicked her boyfriend before stabbing him once in his right buttock.

Not until the following morning, after Perez left the residence, did her boyfriend call police and seek medical attention for the stab wound. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Detectives found out that when Perez left the residence she took her boyfriend’s cell phone, bloody clothing and four steak knives.

Perez was arrested Saturday evening and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
