Las Cruces Women Planning Protest At County Building

Doña Ana County

Following recent allegations of sexual harassment in Doña Ana County government, local activists are planning a protest on February 13.  Here is the statement provided by organizers:

Women in Doña Ana County have described experiences of intimidation, harassment and abuse.  In response, the Las Cruces Women’s March planning team, Indivisible, and the Las Cruces Coalition for Reproductive Justice will hold a Protest/Rally at the Doña Ana County Building, 845 N. Motel Blvd. on Tuesday, February 13th, at 8:30 AM.  Meet in front of the building, but do not block the doors.

The purpose is to advocate for change in the culture of harassment, intimidation, and abuse in the County.  The County Commission needs to stand up against these unacceptable behaviors, revise related policies, and strengthen support for safe and respectful work environments.

Bring appropriate, respectful signs or banners.  (If you enter the Commission meeting that begins at 9:00 am, leave your signs/banners in your vehicle.)
