On-air challenge: Every answer this week is the last name of a world leader of the past 100 years. For each country and an anagram of the name, find the name of the leader.
Ex. Israel, BRAIN --> (Yitzhak RABIN)
Last week's challenge: This challenge comes from Mike Reiss, who's a writer/producer for The Simpsons. Take the first name of a famous actress. Drop a letter. Rearrange what's left, and you'll get a word used in a particular sport. This actress's last name, without any changes, is another word used in the same sport. What actress is it?
Answer: Kirstie Alley (strike + alley).
Winner: Val Dumond of Lakewood, Wash.
Next week's challenge: This challenge may sound impossible, but there's a good answer. Think of a common two-word phrase, in seven letters, that has two R's in the middle. And "in the middle" means exactly in the middle. What phrase is it?
If you know the answer to next week's challenge, submit it here. Listeners who submit correct answers win a chance to play the on-air puzzle. Important: Include a phone number where we can reach you Thursday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. ET.
