Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is joining all types of libraries (school, public and academic) across New Mexico to participate in “Snapshot Day: A Day in the Life of New Mexico Libraries” on Thursday, April 16, to capture information about library usage and services.

Branigan Library will compile statistics, customer comments, photographs and other details representing a typical day in the library. The results collected and pictures taken will be added to those of other libraries across the state to raise awareness of available programs and services.

Renee Frankel, library administrator said, “I hope our library users will stop by in person, or share their support online and be a part of this historic day. Help us celebrate what we do for you – movies, books, literacy, computers and information for everyone. There are so many new things that libraries offer now.  I bet most people will be surprised at what we have for entertainment or information needs. We want all residents of New Mexico to see what a typical day is like for a New Mexico library.”

Snapshot Day has been developed by the New Mexico State Library and results will be used to accompany local and regional advocacy efforts.
