Las Cruces – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HIV is a serious threat to the Hispanic community. The majority of men are infected through homosexual contact while women catch the virus through heterosexual contact. Hispanics now account for 19% of the AIDS cases diagnosed in 2005. KRWG's Lily Olivas brings us a story of one Hispanic man living with HIV and the struggles and stigma he and his wife have faced since his diagnosis.
