Las Cruces police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting that injured a 23-year-old man.
Police learned of the incident shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, when the victim was transported by private vehicle to Memorial Medical Center. Officers learned the victim received what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
The victim was subsequently transported to University Medical Center of El Paso. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Investigators have reason to believe the shooting occurred at an apartment on the 1100 block of La Fonda Drive. No suspect has been identified at this time and the circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
