Missile Test Forces Highway Closures Thursday

WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. (Nov. 13, 2017) - An upcoming missile test
scheduled for the morning of Thursday, Nov. 16, will require the closure of
two state highways and War Road several times during the day.
The test will require the closure of U.S. 54 between the McGregor Range
exit and Orogrande, U.S. 70 between San Augustin Pass and Alamogordo as well
as a portion of War Road from 14 miles north of Dona Ana Range Camp to the
El Paso Gate. The blocks are expected to start at 7:50 a.m. and 9:10 a.m.
and are expected to last an hour each.
The roads will be blocked by White Sands Missile Range security
personnel, and the closure will include the railways along U.S. 54.
Mission requirements will not require the closure of New Mexico Highway
380 from San Antonio to Carrizozo. This road will remain open.
Road closures are scheduled based on the testing plan and are subject
to change without notice.
