New Mexico Man Accused Of 11th DWI

Authorities in New Mexico say a man is in custody for allegedly driving while intoxicated for the 11th time.

Santa Fe police say 51-year-old Robert Ortiz was arrested late Tuesday.

Ortiz told officers he was coming from work when he realized he was going the wrong direction, made a U-turn and rolled his SUV.

When police arrived, they say Ortiz had already crawled out of his damaged vehicle and was stumbling around.

They say he failed a field sobriety test and a breath test showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent.

The presumed level of intoxication in New Mexico is 0.08 percent

Police say Ortiz is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond on suspicion of aggravated DWI, careless driving and failure to have proof of registration or insurance.
