SANTA FE – Severo Vincent “Vince” Martinez has resigned as Chief of Staff of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (NMPRC) effective Friday, August 28.

Commission Chairwoman Karen Montoya stated that the Commission will immediately begin the procedures involved with naming an interim Chief of Staff as well as the process of recruiting a new Chief of Staff for the agency.

“I want to thank Vince for his many years of service at the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission,” Chairwoman Karen Montoya said. “I wish him success in his future endeavors.”

During his nearly two years serving the Commission at the helm of the management of personnel, Martinez oversaw 156 full time positions at the NMPRC’s Santa Fe location as well as the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy in Socorro, N.M.

In addition to the oversight of day-to-day operations of the NMPRC staff under the general direction of the Commission, the Chief of Staff is responsible for providing advice and counsel to the Commissioners regarding daily operations, and performing a variety of management functions to provide administrative oversight of the mission and goals of the agency.

“I wish Vince much success in his future endeavors,” said Commission Vice-Chair Lynda Lovejoy.

“Vince did a great job,” Commissioner Patrick Lyons stated. “He will be missed.”
