Santa Fe, NM – Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced a new Top 10 list of the state’s most wanted DWI fugitives. The initiative is part of the administration’s efforts announced by the governor last year to locate and capture repeat DWI offenders – including those who have killed or seriously injured families on the road – who have skipped out on parole or probation and are now hiding from the law. The fugitives are:
· Wilson Kinlechee, who is on the run after his seventh DWI offense.
· Guadencio Sandoval, who is on the run after his fifth DWI offense.
· Shawn Davis, who is on the run after his sixth DWI offense.
· Fabian James, who is on the run after his fourth DWI offense.
· Ramona Morin, who is on the run after committing vehicular homicide or great bodily harm while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
· Larry Begay, who is on the run after his fifth DWI offense.
· Harry Harvey, who is on the run after his fifth DWI offense.
· Dwayne John, who is on the run after his seventh or greater DWI offense.
· Thomas Frank, who is on the run after his seventh DWI offense.
· Brian Gishie, who is on the run after his fourth DWI offense.
"Let there be no doubt: when you don't want to follow the rules of supervision and want to run, we will hunt you down and ensure you end up back behind bars," Secretary of Corrections Gregg Marcantel said. "We are committed, with our partners, to a safer New Mexico and holding repeat drunk drivers accountable."
Since the Governor’s announcement of the program, law enforcement has captured 18 absconder’s from the state’s top 10 list and captured 112 other DWI fugitives who violated their probation for a DWI offense. The list of most wanted DWI absconders is available online here. Many of these offenders are also violent criminals who drove drunk and either seriously injured another driver or killed them, or they are repeat offenders who are at high-risk for causing a tragedy to occur in the future.
“These fugitives are putting our families in danger,” NMDOT Secretary Tom Church said. “It’s time for them to face their punishment for drinking and driving.”
