New Mexico Unemployment Rate Remains At 6.2 Percent In May

New Mexico Department for Workforce Solutions

New Mexico's unemployment rate is holding steady.

The Department of Workforce Solutions reports that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.2 percent in May, unchanged from April and March.

By comparison, New Mexico's unemployment rate a year ago at this time was 6.6 percent.

The state's economy added 2,900 jobs between May 2015 and last month.

Industries with the largest job gains included business and professional services, leisure and hospitality and construction.

Sectors with the biggest job losses were education and health services, mining and logging and state government education.
