EL PASO, Texas – With an announced attendance of 8,198, the Chihuahuas reached a new milestone Tuesday, as they are proud to announce that more than 500,000 fans have officially entered the Southwest University Park gates to watch a Chihuahuas game, becoming just the fourth team in the Pacific Coast League to accomplish the feat.

The Chihuahuas have totaled 501,186 fans at Southwest University Park with five games remaining in the inaugural season.

“To think that over half a million fans have attended 62 home games in El Paso is amazing and it truly shows the love our city has given its team and Southwest University Park,” said Brad Taylor, the Chihuahuas General Manger. “This is already the most exciting place to watch a Minor League game in the country. To all who believed and gave it a chance, thank you!”

The Chihuahuas also crossed over 108,000 Facebook likes to rank first in all of Minor League Baseball. The accomplishments add to the success of the brand that include the single-season attendance record for El Paso Minor League baseball, sold out crowds in 43 of 62 contests, Minor League Baseball’s (MiLB) Clash of the Cap champions, top-five finishes in MiLB’s Food Fight and top-10 in Mascot Mania, and merchandise sold to all 50 states and 10 countries.

The Chihuahuas have already begun to build towards the success of next season with announcement of the 2015 Gildan Triple-A Baseball National Championship game to be held at Southwest University Park on September 22, 2015.
