Las Cruces, New Mexico – If current legislation proposed in Santa Fe passes, New Mexico State University might get tax breaks to host more live events in the future. State Senator Leonard Lee Rawson is sponsoring senate bill 204, which would eliminate the gross receipts tax currently charged for hosting events at the Pan American Center. Rawson says the bill would not remove the tax from NMSU athletic events.
