NM Game And Fish To Conduct Hunting Roadblocks

New Mexico game and fish officials say they will be conducting roadblocks around the state to make sure hunters and fisherman are abiding by state laws during the spring and fall seasons.

New Mexico's fishing season unofficially opened April 1. And spring turkey season opens April 15.

At roadblocks, conservation officers will be checking to make sure hunters and fishers have the proper licenses and are otherwise abiding by state laws. They also will be monitoring compliance with the Off Highway Motor Vehicle Act and the Aquatic Invasive Species Control Act.

Drivers of vehicles hauling wood will also be checked to make sure they are in compliance with the Forest Conservation Act.
