New Mexico – New Mexicans who have claimed unemployment insurance are now able to check the status of their claims on a toll-free number.
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions recently instituted the number 1-877-NM-4-MYUI/
Information is available in English and Spanish, 24 hours a day. The number offers 999 incoming lines.
Those claiming unemployment benefits can do their weekly certification and reset their personal identification number using the telephone number without having to go through a department customer service representative.
The department says more than 5,000 people already have used the number.
