NMSU And Las Cruces Team For Chronic Disease Workshops

City of Las Cruces Senior Programs is partnering with New Mexico State University Southern Area Health Education Center to provide “MyCD/Chronic Disease Self-Management” workshops. The free 2 ½ hour Workshops are held each week for six weeks.

The workshops are for people age 55 and older who have an ongoing health condition. Participants find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment options, and learn better ways to talk with their physician and family about their health.

Those with conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain and anxiety will benefit from the MyCD/Chronic Disease Self-Management workshops. Participants learn from trained volunteer leaders with health conditions themselves. Set you own goals and make a step-by-step plan to improve your health, and your life!

The current workshop ends April 22. To register for the next one, call 528-3000 and add your name to the list. Spaces are limited.  Participants must be a member of City of Las Cruces Senior Programs, membership is free.  Adult family members are encouraged to attend with participants.
