NMSU International Students Set To Share Culture, Style, And Performances

Arriving to a new country and university where you do not know anyone can be a major adjustment. The International Club of NMSU's President, Monica Manzur is from Belize, and is a senior majoring in Human Resource Management.  She says that the International club tries to make the transition easier for students arriving to Campus from other countries. For example, the club offers a tour of Las Cruces.

“We provide it to as many students that are willing to do it, and we just give them the entire tour of the city-Of important places that they need to know, like restaurants, the mall, shopping. We teach them about the bus system just so they can get acquainted with the entire city, and so they can carry on with themselves,” says Manzur.

Students from The International club at NMSU will be sharing their different cultures during a Fashion and Talent Show on Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Farm and Crafts Market in downtown Las Cruces.

“So far some of the countries that are going to be present are from Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Mexico, India, China, just to name a few, so we’re pretty excited of the spectrum that is going to be represented,” says Manzur.

Donations will be accepted on Saturday to fund the activities of  The International club at NMSU for the upcoming semester.
