NMSU rodeo team celebrates 75 years

The New Mexico State University rodeo team will celebrate its 75 years with a reception, a music festival and of course, a rodeo.

During the weekend of April 28-30, the NMSU rodeo team will conclude its season with its final competitions at the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds. The events will start daily at 1 p.m. and a large crowd is expected.

General admission to the rodeo is $5 daily. Children under the age of 12, as well as NMSU students with a student ID, may enter free of charge. There are also a limited number of regular and premium box seats available for $300 and $500 for those wanting to be right next to the action. Each box includes 10 rodeo passes and two parking passes for each day. Boxes are selling fast so contact event staff soon.

Saturday, April 29, will feature a rodeo celebration at the Las Cruces Ramada & Hotel Conference Center. Tickets are $10 for general admission, payable at the door. All alumni, parents, friends of NMSU rodeo and the general public are invited to attend. The celebration will feature a silent auction with all proceeds raised going to support the rodeo team. Silent auction items are still being accepted.

Sponsorships for the rodeo are also being accepted and vary from arena banners and chute signs to event and performance advertising opportunities. The costs for sponsorships range from $300 to $1,200 and can be customized. If your business is interested in hosting a booth or having a food truck at the rodeo, a few vendor spots remain.

The events are being held in conjunction with the Las Cruces Country Music Festival. The festival will take place Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. in downtown Las Cruces with many country stars performing. More information on schedule and tickets to the music festival can be found at www.lascrucescountrymusic.com.
