One Of New Mexico's "Most Wanted" Captured

The United States Marshals Service South West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) task force has arrested wanted fugitive Steven Malone, 30, after developing leads that the fugitive was in Albuquerque. Las Cruces SWIFT members headed to Albuquerque, joined with the rest of the Albuquerque team and continued the investigation. Fugitive Malone was located and placed under arrest without incident. This case is also listed as a United States Marshal Service Major Case.

Steven Malone was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque on Probation and Parole violations with the original charges of Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery and Child Abuse out of the County of Dona Ana.

United States Marshal Conrad Candelaria stated, “In 2015, the United States Marshals Service in New Mexico added Steven Malone to its “New Mexico’s Most Wanted” list for his multiple State and Local arrest warrants. Malone has a history of gang affiliations and was believed to be dealing methamphetamines.”

On 1/13/2016, SWIFT member’s extensive research and investigation revealed information that led the team to the 2000 block of Sea Breeze in Albuquerque. SWIFT members observed a small blue, 2 door Nissan approach the residence, when two subjects jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the house. After a short while, the subjects then ran back out of the house with their belongings, and attempted to reenter the vehicle. SWIFT members quickly swarmed the vehicle and immediately identified the driver as the target fugitive, Steven Malone. The passenger was identified as his wife Belen Malone.

Malone’s wife Belen was charged with trafficking methamphetamines (30g) which were located in her possession.
