Owners Of White Pickup Sought After $4,000 In Window Damage At Las Cruces High School

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the person or persons who caused several thousand dollars of damage to windows at Las Cruces High School.

Police learned that four windows to a newly constructed portion of Las Cruces High School, along El Paseo Road, were shattered Sept. 26 by what appeared to be gunfire from a BB or pellet gun. Damage to the windows was estimated at around $4,000.

Surveillance cameras at the school captured images of what appears to be a white over black double-cab pickup that passed by the school multiple times when the windows were shattered. Investigators believe someone from the pickup fired a weapon at the school windows while the vehicle passed along El Paseo Road.

The timestamps on the surveillance photos indicated the pickup passed by the school multiple times at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.

Anyone with information that can help identify the driver or passengers of the pickup, or the location where the pickup might be found, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip by text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.

The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
