Patriot Day Ceremony September 11 In Las Cruces

The City of Las Cruces Patriot Day Ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at Albert Johnson Park, near N. Main Street and Picacho Avenue.

The ceremony will commemorate the 14th year of remembrance of the terrorist attacks against the United States.

It will include an honor guard, bag pipes, flag folding ceremony, bell ceremony, and this year, a reading of student essays. The City has asked elementary school students to participate so they may find a deeper understanding of what happened in America, just years before their time.

The ceremony will also include remarks from Mayor Ken Miyagishima and Keynote Speaker Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Fulbright (Army, Retired).

Please join the City at this ceremony. Due to the time of Day, parking may be limited, and vehicle traffic to City Hall will only be allowed through Picacho Ave (Near Branigan Library), until the ceremony has ended.
