Rocky Lara, candidate for Congress in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, will report her strongest fundraising quarter to date, raising more than $375,000 in the second quarter of 2014.
Lara will report having more than $710,000 cash on hand. Since entering the race in September, the campaign has raised more than $945,000.
The campaign reports that nearly 1,600 individual donors contributed in the second quarter of 2014, with 84% of individual donors contributing $100 or less. The average individual contribution was $105.
“I am honored by the overwhelming support I have received from the more than 4,200 individual donors who have contributed to my campaign since I entered this race in September,” said Rocky Lara. “Their support is a clear sign that middle class families are ready for a leader who will find common sense solutions to balance the budget, protect Social Security and Medicare, and bring good paying jobs back to southern New Mexico. I look forward to spending the coming months contrasting my record of bi-partisan problem solving with Congressman Pearce’s record of failed leadership in Washington.”
