Silver City – An Arenas Valley man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison following a plea deal on charges of criminal sexual contact and child abuse.
Prosecutors say 55-year-old Larry Bledsoe pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor under the age of 13 and two counts of child abuse.
The Silver City Sun-News says the charges stemmed from a March 2010 incident involving a 3-month old boy who was in Bledsoe's care.
Bledsoe was sentenced Thursday in Silver City District Court after reaching a plea agreement.
He was facing up to 36 years in prison. His plea deal suspended all but 11 years of the prison term.
Authorities say Bledsoe also must register as a sex offender for life.
