Police, Public & Press: Shining Light On Officer Shootings

Presented by the NMSU Library, NMSU Journalism & Mass Communications and held this year on the campus of New Mexico State University, this year’s Sunshine Week focused on Police, Public & Press: Shining Light On Officer Shootings. The panel discussion was moderated by independent journalist Peter Goodman and featured Susan Boe of NM FOG, Mark D’Antonio, Dona Ana County DA, Stephen Lopez, NMSU Police Chief, Walt Rubel, Las Cruces Sun-News, Michael Stout, Defense Attorney, and Michael Kinney, Dona Ana Sheriff Officer.

Sunshine Week is a national initiative to promote a dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information. Participants include news media, civic groups, libraries, nonprofits, schools and others interested in the public's right to know.
