"Preacher" TV Pilot To Film In New Mexico

  SANTA FE - New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced today that AMC and Sony Pictures Television will produce the pilot "Preacher" in the state May through the beginning of June in Albuquerque, NM.  The pilot will be directed by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg.

 

"Albuquerque welcomes 'Preacher' to our city.  We support the movie industry, and the movie industry supports our economy; it's a great thing for everyone," said Mayor Richard J. Berry.

 

The production will employ at least 80 New Mexico crew members, 17 New Mexico actors and approximately 380 local New Mexico background talent. 

Starring Dominic Cooper ("Captain America: The First Avenger," "Need for Speed"), Ruth Negga ("World War Z," "The Samaritan"), Joseph Gilgun ("This is England," "Lockout"), Elizabeth Perkins ("Big," "Weeds"), Lucy Griffiths ("Winter's Tale," "Robin Hood"), W. Earl Brown ("There's Something About Mary," "Scream") and Ian Coletti ("Pheobe in Wonderland," "Baby Momma"). 
 

"Preacher" is based on a comic book series that centers around Jesse Custer (Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited  by a powerful entity, giving him the ability to make anyone do anything he says.
