Priem Enters GOP Race For NM's First Congressional District

A businessman and retired Army veteran has entered the Republican race for Albuquerque's 1st Congressional District.

Richard Priem announced his candidacy Monday evening for the seat currently held by Democratic Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

Priem is a former Army Lieutenant Colonel who now works as a program manager and corporate officer overseeing law enforcement training and national priority installation security programs. He is making his first run for public office.

Former Albuquerque City Councilman Mike McEntee is also seeking the Republican nomination for the district.
