Quilt Exhibit Coming To Las Cruces Gallery

Las Cruces, NM —  The Tombaugh Gallery at 2000 South Solano Drive presents the “UU Bee Welcome” show, an exhibit opening December 7 featuring the work of this long-time quilting group and associated artists.

The “UU Bee Welcome” is a quilting bee which has met for over five years and provides opportunities for quilters of all skill levels and techniques to gather for one to six hours weekly. The UU Bee members support, inspire, conspire, teach, learn, and have way too much fun in our shared passion for this ancient art and craft.  In the time we've been active togethe,r we have participated in a variety of Las Colcheras’ challenge quilts, mystery quilts and group projects.  We have been challenged to keep our skills honed or to learn something new.  The “Bee” gives this group of quilters a chance to solve problems, work on our projects in a spread-out way, and get ideas and inspiration from others as well as adult conversation.

This show will features a variety of original quilts as well as other related pieces.  Personal items such as clothing, home wares and sculptural pieces are included.  Come experience the homey delight of the UU Bee Welcome show and join us for two artists’ receptions with demos and food.

The Tombaugh Gallery, located inside the Unitarian Universalist Church of Las Cruces, is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or by appointment. Please call 522-7281 for more information.
