Reward In Las Cruces School Vandalism

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the suspect or suspects who broke into and vandalized Mesa Middle School sometime over the Memorial Day weekend.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 28, Las Cruces Police learned that Mesa Middle School, at 7225 N. Jornada Rd., had been vandalized sometime between the evening of May 24 and the early-morning hours of May 28.

Officers and Las Cruces Public School personnel learned that windows were broken inside each building at the school and vandals spray-painted graffiti on numerous walls within the campus. A few Smart Boards within classrooms were also damaged by graffiti.

Damage to the school is estimated at approximately $10,000.

Anyone with information that can help identify the person or persons responsible for the vandalism of Mesa Middle School is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.
