Silver City MainStreet offers Fun Runs for Children and Adults on Territorial Charter Day

This February 17, 2018, is Territorial Charter Day and Silver City MainStreet will participate in the celebration with a fun run through downtown Silver City for adults at 9 am and will also host children’s fun runs in the Big Ditch Park at 11 am.  Here is the information provided by Silver City MainStreet:

The fun runs will showcase our downtown district and prizes will be awarded to all children who participate in this outdoor activity.

Silver City MainStreet is collaborating with WNMU and Coach Macario Campos with sponsorship from the Town of Silver City on the adult and children’s fun runs.  The Urban Challenge fun run will wind through the historic district and will start under the downtown archway and end at the Market Street walking bridge. Runners aged 14 years and older will receive a t-shirt and the entry fee is three cans of food that will be donated to the Grant County Community Food Pantry. The free children’s fun runs will take place in the Big Ditch Park at the end of 6th Street. There will be fun obstacle and dash runs for children grouped by age.

If you haven’t been downtown in awhile, come and get your exercise while checking out all of the great eateries, shops and businesses. Many thanks to all of the small businesses in our town and the wonderful people who operate them.

To register for the 5K Urban Challenge Fun Run please email Charmeine@silvercitymainstreet.com or stop by the MainStreet office located in the Visitor Center at 201 N. Hudson St. You can sign up the day of the race at 8 am next to the Visitor Center.
