Sunland Park Well Repair Delayed Until Next Week

Crews working to repair a broken water well in Sunland Park say full function of the well will require a part that has to be shipped in from out of state.

Late Friday afternoon crews determined the shaft of the well was damaged. The necessary part to fix the well and bring it back online is scheduled to arrive on Monday. Until then, water users in the Sunland Park area are being asked to exercise extreme water conservation through Tuesday, June 25 and expect system-wide outages over the weekend.

Drinking water will be made available to the public at the fire station next to the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA), located at 5650 McNutt Road.

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority provides water service for the City of Sunland Park and most of the unincorporated areas in and around the Santa Teresa County Club and the Santa Teresa Port of Entry. The outages and conservation warnings apply to all users of the system.

Questions and concerns can be directed to the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority offices at (575) 589-1075.
