Team To Investigate Fatal Shooting In Albuquerque

Authorities in Albuquerque say a multi-agency team will investigate a U.S. Marshals Service deputy's fatal shooting of a fugitive.

The Marshals Service says the deputy marshal was trying to serve a federal arrest warrant as part of a task force when the shooting occurred Wednesday.

Citing the investigation, the service did not release other details on circumstances of the shooting.

A statement released by Deputy Marshal Ben Segotta says no law enforcement officers were injured.

The investigation will be conducted by a multi-jurisdictional Officer Involved Shooting Investigative Team comprised of New Mexico State Police, Albuquerque Police Department, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department and Bernalillo District Attorney's Office with the assistance of the FBI.
