Teen Programming Expands In Las Cruces

Las Cruces – The City of Las Cruces is expanding its teen programming at the area recreation centers.

Programs for teens will be shifting from Club Fusion Teen Center to various locations throughout the community during the summer months and school year. The expanded programming includes recreational, social, and athletic activities such as exercise, dance, and fitness classes, sports leagues, tournaments, and special events.

Every Friday night beginning July 1st, the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center will be open exclusively for teenagers ages 13-17 from 9 - 11 pm. There will be music and free pass giveaways. Cost is $2.00 per person.

Every Saturday night beginning August 6th Meerscheidt Recreation Center will be open for teens ages 13-17 from 6 - 9 pm. There will be music, dancing, basketball, tournaments and giveaways. Cost is $2.00 per person.

Fall 2011, get ready for Teen Basketball, Teen Volleyball, Teen ZUMBA classes, Teen Boot Camp, and scheduled special events.

The In/Out Policy for teen programs states that once a teen has paid for the night, they are in the building for the duration of the event. Phones are available to call for rides and no minor is ever left on the property without supervision. Security guards are on location. Teens not picked up at the conclusion of an event are turned over to the Las Cruces Police Department. A photo ID is required, acceptable forms of ID include: school ID, state issued ID, military ID, or Club Fusion ID.
