Thursday Hearing On Las Cruces Alarm Ordinance

The Las Cruces police and fire departments, and Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch are hosting a public hearing on proposed changes to the city’s alarm ordinance designed to reduce the large number of false alarms.

The public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at City Council Chambers at 700 N. Main St. Las Cruces residents, business owners, and burglar and fire alarm providers are encouraged to participate in the hearing.

The City is seeking public input on the proposed changes to the alarm ordinance. Emergency responders are seeking ways to reduce the number of false alarm calls and improve the efficiency of first responders in Las Cruces.
