UPDATE: Man's Body Found Near Silver City; Son Charged With Murder

Silver City – Searchers have found the body of a man whose son told authorities he accidentally shot his father while the two were hunting in the McKnight Canyon area of southwestern New Mexico.

The 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with an open count of murder as Grant County authorities investigate.

Grant County Sheriff Raul Villanueva confirms the man's body was found Tuesday. The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Jeff Manning.

State police search and rescue officials say the body was found by Border Patrol agents working with a dog.

County sheriff's deputies say they responded Sunday night to a call about an accidental shooting in Mimbres.
