Veterans' Issues Forum Thursday In Silver City

Commentary: Everyone cheers for our troops when they march in a parade. But when the parade ends and the cheering stops, who is there to help the brave veterans deal with the many unique challenges they face in life out of uniform? Thursday, November 16, at 6:00pm, at the WNMU Miller Library, the Grant County Democratic Party brings this question front and center with a panel discussion titled -“Do We Really Support Our Veterans?”

The distinguished panelists include Rudy Martinez, NM Representative from District 39; Jeff Carr, Candidate for Lt. Governor; Armando Amador, Founder of Local Vietnam Veterans Chapter 358 and Veteran Merrie Bright.

As usual for this latest in the series of “Third Thursday” forums, along with the Grant Co. Democratic Party, sponsors include the WNMU Miller Library and MEChA student organization, and the Young Democrats. GCDP Chairman Frances Vasquez urges everyone to participate in this important discussion. “Please join us on Thursday evening to voice your support for the men and women who have risked so much to keep us safe and free, and to learn what’s being done what still needs to be done to better address their post-service life.”

Refreshments will be served follow the discussion.
