A Doña Ana County Magistrate Court judge has issued a warrant for the arrest of a 68-year-old Hatch man who is accused of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s granddaughter.
The incident happened Tuesday morning off Bianes Road in Hatch. The 15-year-old victim told detectives that Patricio Rivera walked into the room where she was sleeping after her grandmother left for a doctor’s appointment.
She alleges that Rivera held her down and made sexual advances toward her. When he got up to lock the door, the girl escaped to the bathroom, locked the door and called her sister.
Rivera faces charges of attempted criminal sexual penetration, criminal sexual contact of a minor and two counts of false imprisonment, all of which are fourth-degree felonies.
