Women Facing Poverty In Juárez Is Focus Of NMSU Event
The struggles of poor women in Ciudad Juarez are the focus on a New Mexico State University event.
Elsa Patricia Hernandez, a professor and former journalist in the Mexican border city, is scheduled to be a feature speaker at the event on campus Thursday.
Hernandez is slated to discuss how violence along the border and the economy has affected women in the troubled city.
The former reporter spent 13 years working in newspapers such as El Diario de Nuevo Casas Grandes and Norte de Ciudad Juarez.
